Winn-Dixie Opens New Store In Covington
Winn-Dixie Stores, a food retailer, headquartered in Florida, has opened its grocery store in Covington. The company said that 55,000sqftsupermarket features farmer’s market featuring fresh produce from local growers.
The shop features large produce department featuring an outdoor farmer’s market and various organic and natural products, wine steward, custom sandwich and sub shop, wood-burning rotisserie, wing bar and hot foods station, barbecue station, panini grill, salad bar, yogurt bar, peanut butter machine, olive cart.
The outlet also features a bakery department with baked muffins and bread and specialty desserts, 16’ iced seafood case, lobster tank and sushi, large meat department with full-service meat case, Naturewell Natural Beef and Prairie Grove Farms natural pork selections carving station, large frozen food and, dairy departments and other features.
According to the company, Covington location is the first grocery store in Louisiana to receive the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) GreenChill certification. GreenChill is an EPA Partnership with food retailers designed to help reduce refrigerant emissions and decrease the industry's impact on the ozone layer and climate change.

By having the first GreenChill-certified store in Louisiana, Winn-Dixie has demonstrated to its customers and communities that it is serious about helping to save our Earth's ozone layer and fighting climate change.
