Aloha Insight’s customizable reporting and alerting features to help reduce food and labor costs

Wendy’s/Arby’s, a quick service restaurant company, has entered into a new agreement with Radiant Systems, a global provider of technology to the hospitality and retail industries, making the latter a point-of-sale (POS) technology provider for around 1,150 company-operated Arby’s locations. In addition, Radiant Systems is designated as an approved vendor for Arby’s franchise restaurants, which number more than 2,200.

Don Zimmerman, chief information officer at Wendy’s/Arby’s, said: “We evaluated multiple vendors across our key hierarchy of needs, including efficiency, reliability, supportability, cost, scalability and extensibility. Radiant’s unique ability to service the single-unit franchise operator as well as their ability to scale for our large corporate demands was crucial in our decision.”

Mr Zimmerman added, “The Aloha solution enhances our guest experience and service while also allowing us to remotely monitor and manage chain-wide technology operations and manage the distribution of database and menu changes.”

The restaurant is currently deploying the Aloha Enterprise Suite, including Aloha Quick Service POS, Aloha Command Center, Aloha Configuration Center and Aloha Insight along with Radiant POS hardware within its company-operated Arby’s restaurants in the US.

According to the Radiant Systems, Aloha Quick Service POS increases speed of service and productivity as employees can easily navigate the user-friendly interface to send orders to the kitchen quickly and accurately. Aloha Insight’s customizable reporting and alerting features provide Arby’s management greater flexibility in performance analysis and measurements, which helps reduce food and labor costs through increased visibility of restaurant operations.

The company said that, coupled with the remote management functionalities of Aloha Command Center and Aloha Configuration Center, Arby’s management can better monitor and control settings and security across all sites, enhancing reliability and streamlining support, thus reducing the total cost of ownership.

Paul Langenbahn, president of the hospitality division at Radiant Systems, said: “Wendy’s/Arby’s Group’s selection of our POS technology demonstrates the value of the combined suite of products in terms of their ability to streamline operational and management processes, increase speed of service and improve the overall guest experience.”
