TreeHouse Foods Q2 Net Sales Increase To $446.2m
TreeHouse Foods, a manufacturer of food products in the US, has reported net sales of $446.2m for the second quarter of fiscal 2010, compared to $372.6m in the same quarter last year.
The company posted an operating income of $40.87m, compared to $27.96m in the previous year quarter. Net income for the quarter was $21.65m or $0.60 per diluted share, compared to $18.42m or $0.58 per diluted share in the prior year quarter.
For the six-month period, the company has registered net sales of $843.31m, compared to $728m in the same period last year. Operating income for the quarter was $72.19m, compared to $54.61m in the corresponding period last year.
The company has registered a net income of $37.97m or $1.07 per diluted share for the six-month period, compared to $31.15 or $0.97 per diluted share in the last year period.
Sam Reed, chairman and CEO of TreeHouse Foods, said, Our legacy businesses posted solid operating performance in the quarter, and we are very pleased with the addition of Sturm Foods.
Our relentless focus on attacking the center of the P&L is paying off as we continued to improve productivity and achieved purchasing savings, driving year over year gross margin improvement of 240 basis points.
