Tate & Lyle Commences Operations Of Polydextrose Line In Netherlands
Tate & Lyle, a UK-based renewable food and industrial ingredients company, has totally commissioned its new STA-LITE Polydextrose line in Koog, the Netherlands. The ingredient is available in liquid and powder form.
The producer of ingredients claims that STA-LITE Polydextrose, with 1kcal/gm, is a low-calorie bulking agent used to provide body and texture in reduced calorie, no added sugar and/or high fiber foods.
The company further claims that Polydextrose is also a soluble fiber with prebiotic properties that is well tolerated, has a low glycemic response, and easy to use.
According to the company, the ingredient's process stability enables manufacturers to develop new health versions of a range of foods and beverage products at a low cost-in-use.
Jerome Tauzin, product manager for STA-LITE Polydextrose, said: “We are proud to be sole manufacturer of Polydextrose in Europe which means our European customers will benefit from a shortened supply chain and further reduced costs.
“Our consumer research has highlighted that European consumers are becoming more health conscious. Many people actively manage their weight and are aware that fibre can bring health benefits and in particular in maintaining digestive health. STA-LITE Polydextrose helps our customers meet that consumer trend.”
