FBR Staff Writer Published 10 March 2010

Smashburger, a Denver based fast-casual restaurant, will open its second Boise location on March 31, 2010. The company opened its first location in Boise in August 2009.

In addition, the company said that it will be introducing a one-quarter pound Smashburger that starts at $3.99. The quarter-pound Smashburger will be available at both Boise locations beginning March 31.

The menu will feature an Idaho Smashburger, Sweet Potato Smashfries (sweet potato fries tossed with rosemary olive oil and garlic), Fried Pickles (fried dill pickles served with buttermilk ranch dressing) and a huckleberry Haagen-Dazs shake.

The Idaho Smashburger starts with a one-quarter, one-third or half-pound ball of Angus beef that is smashed, seared and seasoned on the grill, topped with potato chips, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato and mayo on a potato bun.

Smashburgers start at $3.99 with a one-fourth, one-third or half-pound ball of Angus beef not frozen smashed on a flat grill. Further Smashburgers are served on a toasted artisan bun and topped with a selection of cheeses, produce, and toppings including onions, guacamole or even a fried egg.The restaurant also serves Smashchicken sandwiches, Smashdogs, and Smashsalads, with sides like veggie frites and rosemary and garlic-seasoned Smashfries. It also offers Haagen-Dazs shakes and malts.

Tom Ryan, founder of Smashburger, said: We are excited to continue spreading our burger magic across Boise. Our first location was extremely well received and a second store will allow more Boise residents to try Smashburger and make it the city’s favorite burger place.”
