Publix Recalls Four Seasoning Mixes

Publix Super Markets has voluntarily recalled four varieties of seasoning mixes. The products have been manufactured with HVP (hydrolyzed vegetable protein) supplied by Basic Food Flavors of Las Vegas, Nevada. The HVP may be contaminated with Salmonella.

The recalled products of all lot codes include: Mushroom Gravy Mix of 0.75oz with UPC: 41415-03308, Meatloaf Seasoning of 1oz with UPC: 41415-03408, Beef Flavored Stew Mix of 1.45oz with UPC: 41415-03608, Au Jus Gravy Mix of 1oz with UPC: 41415-04208.

Maria Brous, director of media and community relationsat Publix, said: “As part of our commitment to food safety, potentially impacted product has been removed from all store shelves. To date, there have been no reported cases of illness. Consumers who have purchased the products in question may return the product to their local store for a full refund.”

Consumption of products containing Salmonella can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly persons and others with weakened immune systems.
