Planet Smoothie Selects Micros As Vendor For POS System
Planet Smoothie, a restaurant concept that serves fruit smoothies, has selected Micros Systems, a provider of information technology services for the hospitality and retail industries, as its exclusive vendor for a point-of-sale (POS) system.
The restaurant chain will implement the Micros Restaurant Enterprise Solution (RES), and mymicros.net for business intelligence, to all its new outlets, and will equip all existing locations as required.
Planet Smoothie needs an system with the capabilities to display a variety of menu options allowing employees to easily enter orders. According to the restaurant, Micros RES is a user-friendly point-of-sale system with dynamic digital menu boards, all-inclusive above-store reporting, and advanced business intelligence capabilities, which will help increase efficiency, lower operating costs, and save valuable time.
The chain, with over 125 locations, was also seeking a reporting tool that conforms to, and organizes financial and operational information. Micros's mymicros.net is a reporting engine which provides almost real-time data in easy-to-view online reports. Data is clubbed in organizational and relational hierarchies furnishing logical and simple-to-understand reports.
