Pinnacle Foods opens $20m expansion of canned meat facility

FBR Staff Writer Published 30 January 2012

US-based food company Pinnacle Foods has officially opened the 17,000ft² expansion of its canned meat factory in Fort Madison, Iowa, in the US. The $20m expansion project is expected to create about 65 jobs.

The expanded facility features new production and packaging lines for the company's Nalley chili and Brook's bean brands. The expansion enables the company to add more than 80 products to its existing production portfolio of Armour canned meats and chili.

Pinnacle Foods' Fort Madison factory plant manager Bryan Langerud said the company is excited to expand production at Fort Madison.

"The State of Iowa and the City of Fort Madison were critical to our successful expansion and we thank them for their support over the past year," Langerud added.

Pinnacle Foods, headquartered in Parsippany, New Jersey, is involved in the production of branded convenience food products in North America. It operates through three segments: Birds Eye Frozen, Duncan Hines Grocery, and Specialty Foods.
