Murphy House Recalls Pork Barbecue Products

FBR Staff Writer Published 04 February 2010

The US Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) said that Murphy House, a Louisburg, North Carolina based establishment, has recalled approximately 2,850lbs. of pork barbecue products because they may contain an undeclared allergen, soy flour, which was not declared on the label.

The product subject to recall includes: 5-lbs. buckets of 'The Murphy House Premium Pork Barbecue; Cooked, Unskinned, Pork With Barbecue Sauce Added'. Each package bears the establishment number 'EST. 2135' inside the USDA mark of inspection.

The pork barbecue products were sent to distributors and restaurants in the North Carolina region.

The problem was discovered during a routine review of operations by FSIS at the establishment. FSIS has received no reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.
