McDonald's To Roll Out New Breakfast Dollar Menu in 2010

FBR Staff Writer Published 13 December 2009

To include McMuffin, sausage biscuit, sausage burrito, 12-ounce coffee and hash browns

McDonald's has said that it is going to introduce a breakfast Dollar Menu all over the US in January next year. The company said that its new national breakfast Dollar Menu is going to be supported by national advertising and includes a sausage McMuffin, a sausage biscuit, a sausage burrito, a 12-ounce coffee and hash browns.

Reportedly, the company executives had been giving indications that they would make the breakfast Dollar Menu available nationwide owing to the soaring unemployment leading to fewer customers in the mornings. According to NPD Group, a market research firm, breakfast traffic dropped 2% in this summer at US fast food restaurants.

This move heats up the competition on the value menu front, where rival Burger King is already providing a breakfast value offering, and Yum Brands' Taco Bell is selling breakfast items for 79 cents.

The company also revealed that the national launch of the Mac Snack Wrap, which is a modification of its Big Mac with a suggested price of $1.49, is scheduled for next month.
