McDonald's Global Comparable Sales Increase In April
McDonald's has reported that its global comparable sales increased 4.9% in April. In the US, it increased 3.8%, in Europe it increased by 5.3% and in Asia/Pacific, Middle East and Africa it was up by 3.9%.
The company said that top contributors to April results for the US segment were beverages, including new McCafe offerings like Frappes, core products like Chicken McNuggets, and Dollar Menu.
In Europe,comparable sales increased 5.3% led by positive sales growth in France, the UK, Germany and Russia. McDonald's European business continues to benefit from customer-focused strategies around menu choice, everyday affordability and restaurant reimaging, the company claims.
In Asia/Pacific, Middle East and Africa (APMEA), comparable sales rose 3.9% for April, fueled by Australia and other markets.
Systemwide sales rose 10.3%, or 6.4% in constant currencies, for the month.
