Maria Elena's launches new organic drink mix

FBR Staff Writer Published 24 January 2008

Food and beverages company Maria Elena's Authentic Latino has introduced a new organic Horchata drink mix by bringing the Hispanic flavor of Aguas Frescas to consumers.

The new organic Horchata drink mix is based on the latino rice and cinnamon refreshment and is claimed to be a nutritious formulation. The mix is certified organic and is claimed to be free of all trans and saturated fats and is calcium-rich, providing 15% of the recommended daily adult allowance of calcium. It mixes easily with water and can be served over crushed ice or refrigerated as a delectable thirst-quencher. The new drink mix is manufactured in the US and it will initially be available with food retailers in southern California in convenient 10-ounce packs for home use. It will also be available in the US in a 1.5 pound institutional pack for restaurants and coffee houses. Jerry Gonzalez, co-founder, said: We consider ourselves latino food artisans. Our mission is to use our deep understanding of natural and organic foods to offer consumers fresh new tastes that put both a nutritious and a delicious twist on traditional Hispanic foods.
