Magnolia Bakery Heads For 2010 Expansion With New National, International Outlets

FBR Staff Writer Published 21 February 2010

Magnolia Bakery, a family-owned and operated bakery business, will open three new locations in the US and overseas as part of its 2010 expansion plans. The selection of locations include the recent overseas opening in Dubai, one in Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan, which opens today, and one more in Los Angeles, California, in spring.

The bakery, through an exclusive territorial license agreement, has opened its first international bakery within The Dubai Mall on February 1, 2010. The Los Angeles location is slated to be opened in May 2010 at the corner of West 3rd Street and Orlando Avenue in West Hollywood.

The 885 sqft bakery, located within Bloomingdale's home store, is managed and operated by Al Tayer Insignia, the luxury retail company of Al Tayer Group. The menu of the new location includes a range of cupcake flavors along with buttercream-frosted cupcakes, red velvet cake, banana pudding and a variety of brownies, bars and cookies, among others.

The company said that the Grand Central Magnolia Bakery location, which opened on February 22, offers an array of goods baked on-premises and a beverage service, including grounded Magnolia Blend coffees. Apart from the breakfast items such as raspberry crumb muffins, customers will be able to place orders in advance for pick up along their travels.

Steve Abrams said: We wanted to establish Magnolia as a trusted neighborhood bakery in each of these new areas, and so far we've received wonderful feedback from our new neighborhood residents and visitors.

Part of Magnolia's success is our desire to ensure each location remains authentic to the original concept and true to the overall brand, which I think our customers recognize and greatly appreciate.

Magnolia Bakery specializes in baked goods items including red velvet cake, icebox cake and banana pudding. The bakery claims that all its locations are Kosher certified.
