Kashi rolls out new line of natural frozen entrees

Californian health food business Kashi Company is expanding its product assortment of whole grain, ready-to-eat cereals, crackers and granola bars to include all-natural frozen entrees.
Kashi All-Natural Entrees combine large-cut, crisp vegetables, hearty whole grains and portions of protein, including chicken, shrimp and black beans. Consistent with Kashi's existing product offering, the new frozen entrees are all-natural and minimally processed to provide a healthy, nutrient-packed, food experience, the company said.
Kashi is launching six 10oz. entrees in poultry, seafood and vegetarian varieties, including the following recipes: lemon rosemary chicken, chicken pasta pomodoro, black bean mango, sweet and sour chicken, southwest style chicken and lime cilantro shrimp.
Jeff Johnson, Kashi brand manager and nutritionist, said: "For today's time-starved consumers, frozen foods represent a fast and convenient meal choice; however, there are very few options on the market that provide good nutrition and lasting nourishment. Our all-natural entrees combine wholesome ingredients and a complete balance of fiber, protein and healthy fats to leave you feeling full and fulfilled."
Kashi's frozen entrees contain between 240 and 380 calories, and offer five to seven grams of fiber and eight to 19 grams of protein. The entrees also feature additional nutrients, including Vitamin C, Vitamin A and calcium.
