Doves Farm withdraws Chocolate and Crispy Rice Bars in UK

FBR Staff Writer Published 10 February 2012

Doves Farm has withdrawn some of its Chocolate and Crispy Rice Bars in the UK as they contain milk, which is not declared on the label, according to the Food Standards Agency (FSA).

According to the agency, this makes the bars a potential health risk for people who are allergic or intolerant to milk or milk constituents. The agency has advised people who are allergic to or intolerant of milk or milk constituents not eat the withdrawn products.

The following products have been withdrawn: Doves Farm Chocolate & Crispy Rice Bars, 5 x 35g, belonging to the following batches - 1276, 2026, 1349, 1340, 1312, 1305, 1252, 2010, 1335, 1319, 1290, 1266 and 1243.

Doves Farm has withdrawn the affected batch from sale and, as a precaution, has withdrawn another 12 batches. Customer notices will be displayed in stores explaining why the bars have been withdrawn.

In addition, the company will be contacting the relevant allergy support organizations, who will inform their at-risk members of the withdrawal.

No other Doves Farm products are known to be affected.
