Dorset Cereals Introduces Three New Granola Recipes

FBR Staff Writer Published 09 March 2010

Dorset Cereals has developed three new Granola recipes, in addition to its Honey Granola. The new Granola recipes include Chocolate, Chocolate & Macadamia nuts and Marmalade.

The company said that the recipes are hand-made in Dorset in small batches using ethically sourced ingredients. The cereal maker has worked in collaboration with the Fairtrade Foundation to develop the two chocolate recipes, which are made using lashings of Fairtrade dark chocolate and bear the Fairtrade Mark.

The company also said that the new Chocolate Granola recipes are packed with baked oats, barley flakes, sunflower seeds and Fairtrade 70% cocoa dark chocolate.

Kerry Fuller, senior brand manager at Dorset Cereals, said: We have been absolutely delighted with the success of our Honey Granola and are hoping for similar results with our three new recipes. 15 months on from its launch, Honey Granola has become one of our most popular products along with other favourites such as Super High Fibre and Berries & Cherries, and is now the second best-selling line in the premium Granola market.

The company said that its new Marmalade Granola is made using Marmalade made by family run Duerr's of Manchester and also includes rye flakes and roasted hazelnuts. Honey Granola features oats, pecans, sunflower seeds and a hint of vanilla is baked with honey from Rowse, Oxford.

Dorset Cereals makes all its breakfast cereals at Poundbury in Dorset. The company's other recipes include Mueslis, Porridges, Tasty Fruit & Fibre, Tasty Low Fat Flakes, Granolas, Chunky Slices and Cereal Bars.
