Delhaize to implement XATA fleet performance tool
Delhaize Group, a Belgian international food retailer, will implement a fleet performance management tool XATANET across its Food Lion, Hannaford and Sweetbay Banners as a single platform to boost its fleet performance.
The new tool from Minnesota-based XATA Corporation will enable Delhaize to track speed performance and driver behavior and to access driver, vehicle route and delivery information in real-time.
Delhaize said that it decided to increase its fleet management capacity in order to optimize customer service, and increase performance and safety.
Delhaize will also leverage on XATA Fleet Performance Management (FPM), a planning, visualization and analytic tool that offers increased insight in to its key performance indicators.
The company will deploy a set of Fleet Scorecards available in XATA FPM to allow executives, managers, supervisors and even drivers to check their performance, understand any underlying issues through drill-down analysis, and react accordingly.
Delhaize America, a supermarket operator with around 1,500 stores in 16 states in the eastern US, will implement XATANET on 780 trucks across these three banners.
XATA claims that its software systems can affordably oversee every truck in an organization's fleet through a monthly-subscription service.
Delhaize Group has presence in six countries on three continents, and its sales network consisted of 2,732 stores at the end of 2009.
